ES-112 — Deployment and Transition

Move the approved operational scope into its target environment while preserving release limits, transition controls, rollback ability, user communication, and deployment evidence.

Deployment and Operations Deployment Evidence Next: ES-113

ES-112 Evidence

Purpose

This page defines the evidence expected from ES-112.

Deployment and transition evidence demonstrates that the approved operational scope was moved into its target environment without uncontrolled scope expansion.

Required evidence

Artifact Evidence Purpose
deployment_overview.md Connects operational readiness to deployment.
deployment_scope.md Defines the deployed boundary.
deployment_plan.md Defines deployment sequence and controls.
environment_readiness_check.md Confirms target environment readiness.
deployment_execution_record.md Records deployment execution.
transition_communication.md Records transition communication.
access_and_data_transition_record.md Confirms user, role, and data controls.
rollback_validation_record.md Confirms rollback, pause, or stop actions.
post_deployment_check.md Confirms deployed state after transition.
deployment_readiness_summary.md Summarizes readiness for ES-113.

Evidence quality expectations

Deployment evidence should be traceable to operational scope, explicit about environment, baseline, access, data, disabled features, rollback and stop options, honest about deployment issues, and useful to operations and monitoring.

Deployment quality test

Deployment evidence is adequate when a reviewer can answer:

  • What was deployed?
  • Where was it deployed?
  • Who deployed it?
  • Who can access it?
  • What data can be used?
  • What features are disabled?
  • What checks passed?
  • What issues occurred?
  • How can it be stopped or rolled back?
  • What was communicated?
  • Can operations and monitoring begin?

Scope preservation evidence

The most important ES-112 evidence is proof that deployment did not expand approved scope.

Evidence should show that release scope, operational scope, deployment scope, access, data, enabled capabilities, transition communication, and post-deployment checks agree.

AI-use evidence

If AI assists deployment artifact creation, record how it was used and how scope, access, data, rollback, and transition assumptions were reviewed.

AI may draft or critique evidence. It does not authorize deployment.

Common Pitfall

Do not leave deployment evidence inside terminal scrollback or chat only. Deployment evidence belongs in the repository.

Engineering Insight

Deployment evidence protects the team from later confusion about what was actually exposed.
