ES-114 Outputs¶
Purpose¶
This page defines the outputs produced by ES-114 and how they support future engineering cycles.
Required outputs¶
docs/stewardship/post_release_learning_overview.md
docs/stewardship/operations_evidence_review.md
docs/stewardship/lessons_learned.md
docs/stewardship/incident_and_defect_learning.md
docs/stewardship/user_feedback_synthesis.md
docs/stewardship/guardrail_and_ai_learning.md
docs/stewardship/technical_debt_and_improvement_backlog.md
docs/stewardship/stewardship_plan.md
docs/stewardship/next_cycle_recommendations.md

Output purposes¶
| Output | Purpose | Downstream Use |
|---|---|---|
| Post-release learning overview | Establishes learning context. | Stewardship review |
| Operations evidence review | Assesses operational evidence. | Evidence improvement |
| Lessons learned | Captures lessons and actions. | Next cycle planning |
| Incident and defect learning | Converts defects into learning. | Improvement routing |
| User feedback synthesis | Turns feedback into themes. | Requirements and design updates |
| Guardrail and AI learning | Reviews trust controls. | Governance and AI planning |
| Technical debt and improvement backlog | Records improvements. | Planning and execution |
| Stewardship plan | Defines ongoing ownership. | Long-term responsibility |
| Next-cycle recommendations | Routes future work. | Engineering restart |
| Stewardship summary | Closes cycle and states decision. | Lifecycle record |
Optional outputs¶
docs/stewardship/roadmap_update.md
docs/stewardship/governance_update.md
docs/stewardship/metrics_review.md
docs/stewardship/stakeholder_review_notes.md
docs/stewardship/open_stewardship_questions.md
Create optional outputs only when they clarify real stewardship evidence.
Output quality checklist¶
Confirm that required artifacts exist, operations evidence was reviewed, lessons are evidence-backed, incidents and defects were analyzed, feedback was synthesized, guardrail and AI learning was captured, improvement backlog has owners and routing, stewardship plan exists, next-cycle recommendations are clear, and stewardship summary closes the cycle.
Downstream use¶
ES-114 outputs may route work back to earlier stages or authorize continued stewardship.
The output package should make the next engineering move obvious: continue, pause, stop, return to a specific stage, begin a new cycle, or maintain stewardship with defined ownership.
Do not end with “we should improve testing.” State which testing gap, why it matters, who owns it, and which stage should handle it.
The stewardship output package is the evidence-backed memory of the completed engineering cycle.
