Stewardship Templates¶
Purpose¶
These templates support ES-114 — Post-Release Learning and Stewardship.
Use this family after ES-113 monitoring has produced operational evidence. ES-114 closes the engineering cycle or routes it forward. It turns observed operation into lessons, backlog items, governance updates, improvement recommendations, ownership assignments, and next-cycle decisions.

Template set¶
Post-Release Learning Overview
Connect stewardship to monitoring evidence, learning objective, reviewed scope, question, and evidence limits.
02Operations Evidence Review
Assess evidence quality, implications, gaps, and whether evidence is sufficient for learning.
03Lessons Learned
Record lessons, evidence sources, engineering implications, actions, owners, and routes.
04Incident and Defect Learning
Convert incidents and defects into patterns, learning, actions, owners, and route decisions.
05User Feedback Synthesis
Synthesize feedback themes, interpretations, actions, high-value feedback, and non-action rationale.
06Guardrail and AI Learning
Analyze guardrail and AI evidence, learning, risks, needed changes, and routed actions.
07Technical Debt and Improvement Backlog
Record debt, improvements, risks, features, process changes, priority, route, and target cycle.
08Stewardship Plan
Assign stewardship owners, continuing monitoring, risk ownership, decision points, and governance updates.
09Next-Cycle Recommendations
Recommend next cycle routing, priorities, owners, conditions, and continue/pause/stop decision.
10Stewardship Summary
Summarize ES-114 outcomes, stewardship decision, highest priorities, next stage, and cycle closure.

| Question | Evidence |
|---|---|
| What operational evidence is being reviewed and why? | post_release_learning_overview.md |
| Is the evidence strong enough to support learning? | operations_evidence_review.md |
| What lessons were learned? | lessons_learned.md |
| What did incidents and defects teach us? | incident_and_defect_learning.md |
| What did users tell us? | user_feedback_synthesis.md |
| What did guardrails and AI behavior teach us? | guardrail_and_ai_learning.md |
| What should enter the improvement backlog? | technical_debt_and_improvement_backlog.md |
| Who owns stewardship going forward? | stewardship_plan.md |
| What should happen in the next cycle? | next_cycle_recommendations.md |
| Is this cycle closed or routed forward? | stewardship_summary.md |
Do not let ES-114 become a retrospective with no consequences. Stewardship must route learning into action, ownership, governance updates, backlog items, or cycle closure.
Stewardship is how trustworthy systems stay trustworthy. Operational evidence must change the engineering system, not simply be archived.
