Example purpose¶
This artifact validates rollback and stop actions for the LMU-COICP-RC-001 internal review deployment.
Rollback is scoped to the deployment type. Because this is an internal engineering review deployment, rollback means stopping reviewer use, removing access, resetting synthetic data, preserving evidence, and returning to the appropriate engineering stage.
Project¶
LMU Campus Operations and Incident Coordination Platform
Document control¶
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Artifact owner | COICP Product Engineer |
| Primary reviewers | COICP Product Owner, IT security reviewer, AI reviewer, Compliance reviewer, Architecture Review Board chair |
| Status | Validated for internal engineering review |
| Last updated | 2026-07-06 |
| Related Engineering Stage | ES-112 — Deployment and Transition |
| Project workspace target | docs/project-workspace/deployment/rollback_validation_record.md |
Rollback definition¶
For LMU-COICP-RC-001, rollback means pausing or stopping internal review, removing reviewer access if needed, resetting synthetic data if needed, preserving deployment and monitoring evidence, and returning to the correct ETIS stage for remediation.
Validation checks¶
| Check | Result | Owner | Evidence | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Remove approved reviewer access | Pass | IT security reviewer | access transition record | Accounts can be disabled by reviewer group |
| Pause all review sessions | Pass | Product owner | transition process | Product owner owns communication |
| Reset synthetic dataset | Pass | Product engineer / Compliance | dataset record | Spring dataset can be reloaded |
| Confirm AI disabled after rollback | Pass | AI reviewer | AI check | Feature flag remains disabled |
| Preserve evidence before rollback | Pass | Architecture Review Board | evidence note | Deployment and review records retained |
| Return defect to testing | Pass | Product engineer | defect workflow | DEF-001 / DEF-003 can return to ES-109 |
| Reissue scope communication | Pass | Product owner | transition communication | Message can be resent |
Stop criteria¶
Stop or pause review if:
- real campus incident data appears;
- sensitive data appears;
- unauthorized user gains access;
- AI Incident Summary appears active;
- emergency-related incident is handled as normal COICP incident;
- evidence event is missing for official state change;
- reviewers treat the environment as operational pilot;
- access expands beyond approved reviewer list.
Return-to-stage guidance¶
| Trigger | Return To |
|---|---|
| Handoff evidence defect | ES-107 Implementation or ES-109 Testing |
| Invalid status transition defect | ES-107 Implementation and ES-109 Testing |
| Access matrix gap | ES-109 Testing |
| Evidence write failure gap | ES-109 Testing and ES-110 Release Readiness |
| Release scope change | ES-110 Release Readiness |
| Operational scope change | ES-111 Operational Readiness |
| Deployment environment issue | ES-112 Deployment |
| Monitoring observation | ES-113 Monitoring / ES-114 Stewardship |
Rollback drill result¶
| Drill | Result | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Disable one synthetic reviewer account | Pass | Account removed from review access |
| Reset synthetic dataset in staging copy | Pass | Dataset reload verified |
| Reissue stop communication | Pass | Product owner message prepared |
| Confirm AI disabled after reset | Pass | AI setting remained disabled |
Rollback decision¶
Rollback and stop controls are sufficient for LMU internal engineering review.
They are not sufficient for production deployment or operational pilot.
